According to Docs' explanation, does the data belong to the keyring?

When I read several documents and codes of the vault project, it is thought that keyring is intended to bundle and store multiple encryption keys used in one place with the same root key.

But reading this document made me confused.

The encryption key is also stored with the data (in the keyring)

When I saw this sentence, I interpreted it to mean that certain data could belong to the keyring.

If what I mentioned at first is correct, it is more appropriate to express “The encryption key (in the keyring) is stored with the data” instead of the sentence in the document.

Did I misunderstand the sentence or did I misunderstand about vault?

I’m a little bad at English, so I’m not sure about this. I would appreciate it if you could share what you understand.

Hi,

I think you can replace “The encryption key is also stored with the data” by “The encryption key is also stored in the keyring next to the data”

Of course, you can’t store the encryption as a data that is encrypted with en encryption key…

Thank you for your response!

Is the document written so that others can be confused?
It’s okay if I’m the only one who didn’t understand it properly, but it would be nice if it was written in a more accurate expression. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:
