# Feature request: modify aws\_network\_interface

In the AWS Console (EC2 \> Network Interfaces \> eni-xxxxxx), in the _Actions_ menu, you find the _Manage IP address_ option, and you can _Assign new IP address_ for the interface, including the _Auto-assign_ possibility.

So my suggestion is to add an argument _network\_interface\_id_ to specify the network interface id that you want to modify, example:

> resource “aws\_network\_interface” “principal” {  
> network\_interface\_id = module.ec2\_create.primary\_network\_interface\_id  
> subnet\_id = module.ec2\_create.subnet\_id // May be required only if network\_interface\_id is not specified  
> private\_ips\_count = 2  
> }

So, you can have a secondary IP address added to this interface.

This forum is primarily for Q&A between members of the Terraform community and do the development teams don’t tend to look here for feature requests, so I suggest also opening a feature request issue in the AWS providers repository, so that the provider development team can consider it:
