# How to collect JSON files using azurerm monitor data collection rule?

The latest documentation ([Terraform Registry](https://registry.terraform.io/providers/hashicorp/azurerm/latest/docs/resources/monitor_data_collection_rule)) says the only supported option for log\_file/format is “text”. It’s possible to configure it using ARM template and the difference between “text” and “json” is in this only parameter.

Any suggestion on how to configure data collection from JSON files?
