KV JSON parsing error

Hello,

While migrating from Vault CE v1.20.2 to v2.0.4 (through v1.20.4 and v.1.21), we now have the the following error when using the key-value secret engine v2:

JSON.parse: unexpected character at line 1 column 1 of the JSON data

Searching in this forums and in the documentation known issues, we haven’t found any mention of this error.

What can we do to solve this problem?

Hi @ashireheart,

Can you share some additional details on your configuration please and how you arrived at this error?

This looks like a screenshot of the Vault UI, but I can’t replicate the Secrets and Configuration tab shown like you have on 2.0.3, 2.0.4, or 2.1.

Possible its a caching issue?
Have you tried incognito mode?
Is this Vault Community or Enterprise?
Are you logged in with a root level token or a regular user via an auth method with a more restrictive policy?
Do you get a JSON error accessing the secret using the CLI with the same user/token as you see in the UI?
