# Missing metrics

hi,

for some reason `vault.secret.kv.count` metric is not present on my metrics list.  
do anyone have similar problems? what could cause this issue?

You’ve not given much information so any answer is going to involve a fair bit of guess-work:

You might not have any KV engines in your Vault.

You migth have turned off usage gauges with [Telemetry - Configuration | Vault by HashiCorp](https://www.vaultproject.io/docs/configuration/telemetry#usage_gauge_period)

Vault might be running into some internal error doing an internal list of all of the configured KVs in order to figure out the values.

You might not have waited long enough for the periodic population fo the usage gauges to run.

You might be looking for a metric on a Vault node which isn’t cluster leader, where it is not produced.

Or perhaps something else I haven’t thought of.
