I’ve ran into this problem with several Terraform tutorials that have suggested to use the AWS Free Tier. Can Terraform confirm whether this is an issue or a workaround on AWS Free Tier?
I’m testing Terraform with this tutorial, the tutorial suggests to use AWS Free Tier: Create infrastructure | Terraform | HashiCorp Developer
After executing terraform apply, I always end up with this Error (see below), saying that I don’t have sufficient privileges on AWS to create resources. Is there a specific AWS Permission I need? I have enabled: AmazonEC2FullAccess.
Error: reading EC2 AMIs: operation error EC2: DescribeImages, https response error StatusCode: 403, RequestID: d6b162fa-8836-48d8-886f-720f5a137f6f, api error UnauthorizedOperation: You are not authorized to perform this operation. User: arn:aws:iam::532818875857:user/sid-iam-user is not authorized to perform: ec2:DescribeImages with an explicit deny in a service control policy: arn:aws:organizations::156772973358:policy/o-2sb7m4q564/service_control_policy/p-ct09gfxs
I’ll be interested to know if anyone can get the tutorial working with the AWS Tier, and what you did.
