The alternative package repositories are maintained by a central team at HashiCorp rather than by our team directly so I’m honestly not 100% sure of the behavior here but I suspect these repositories only pick up stable releases on the assumption that folks using these repositories are likely to be trying to use the software in production and would thus not want to end up inadvertently using a prerelease just because it happens to be the highest available version number.
Installing the .zip
packages directly from releases.hashicorp.com
is the expected way to participate in the beta/rc process, in any case.
