Why website/LICENSE.md is not in the main License file?

Why the website license in not part of the main opensource license?

Hi, are you referring to the license itself in a legal sense? If so, those are located https://github.com/hashicorp/vault/blob/master/LICENSE and https://github.com/hashicorp/vault/blob/master/website/LICENSE.md? Or do you mean you’d like to use the UI? If so, it’s available in the opensource version, just needs to be flipped on via the configuration: https://www.vaultproject.io/docs/configuration/ui/index.html.

My question is can we legally use UI in the community version? This license https://github.com/hashicorp/vault/blob/master/website/LICENSE.md is listed as proprietary.

Ah! Great question. Yes, you can legally use the UI in the community version. I think that license is just trying to state that you can’t use its design components for a new project of your own. Like if you took its sidebar or favicon or images and used them to build your own new work.
