1.3.x: No cluster leader on single node cluster

I was not able to update a single node cluster to 1.3.x without breaking the cluster with “No cluster leader”.

  1. VM snapshot
  2. updated server from 1.2.6 to 1.2.8 → Worked fine
  3. update server to 1.3.0 → No cluster leader
  4. update server to 1.3.1 → No cluster leader
  5. restored to 1.2.6

Hi @resmo,

Did you follow the 1.3.0 upgrade notes and specifically the Raft update guide as there were some notable items to be cautious of. The most notable point that seems relevant here is the detail on upgrading Raft in a single server cluster.

Other than no leader, were there any log messages which would indicate what exactly was causing problems?
