Packer local box versioning

Hello,

I create a local vagrant box using the vagrant post-processor. How do I provide versioning to this box?

Or have I misunderstood something about the versioning of boxes made for vagrant? I am supposed to version manage iteration of vagrant boxes I create when I make changes to my packer script?
