Boundary agent intermittently changes DNS only, causing browsing issues

Apologies if this is a basic question, as I’m still relatively new to Boundary.

We’re experiencing an issue where the Boundary agent occasionally changes only the DNS settings on users’ laptops, rather than updating both the DNS and IP address as expected. When this occurs, users are unable to browse normally.

The issue is inconsistent and appears to happen randomly. Most of the time, Boundary functions correctly and updates both the DNS and IP settings without any problems.

One additional challenge is that our users do not have local administrator rights. As a result, when this issue occurs, they are unable to resolve it themselves and must visit the helpdesk for a temporary fix.

Has anyone encountered similar behaviour or have any suggestions on what might be causing this?
