Packages file seems corrupt for Debian Stretch in apt repository

Hi,

I have the following error with this apt repository since today :

deb https://apt.releases.hashicorp.com stretch main
output of apt update

[...]

Get:11 https://apt.releases.hashicorp.com stretch/main amd64 Packages [23.8 kB]
Fetched 28.2 kB in 0s (33.0 kB/s)
Reading package lists... Error!
E: Encountered a section with no Package: header
E: Problem with MergeList /var/lib/apt/lists/apt.releases.hashicorp.com_dists_stretch_main_binary-amd64_Packages
E: The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened.

It seems like the the package lists file is corrupted? Any idea?

Thanks in advance.

Kiruban

Hi Kiruban,

Thanks for reporting this and apologies for the inconvenience! This appears to be limited to debian stretch. I’m working on getting updated metadata pushed now!

Thanks,
Kyle

New metadata is live, apt-get update is now clean for me on debian stretch!

Thank you very much, it’s fine here too. :ok_hand:

I recently started getting a similar error today. Any idea why? Anyone else having this issue?

E: Encountered a section with no Package: header
E: Problem with MergeList /var/lib/apt/lists/apt.releases.hashicorp.com_dists_stretch_main_binary-amd64_Packages.lz4
E: The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened.

Indeed, “Stretch” seems broken. “Buster” seems OK.

Maybe it helps to mention @kpenfound to get some attention to this issue, or create a new topic?

hi, I created another topic because I have the same issue.

Waiting for someone to help!
