Terraform init fails starting with 1.15

Hello,

starting with Terraform 1.15 I am having issues with downloading modules, e.g. when running terraform init:

$ terraform init -upgrade

It is working without problem with terraform version 1.14.8. Any idea how to track the reason for this error down is appreciated.

I am running terraform on Windows, if that matters.

Thanks in advance!

Found it out myself.

I have installed Git Bash and also Cygwin on my Windows laptop. In Cygwin I had installed git, too. And from Cygwin I usually run terraform.

I found out that terraform works fine when I run it in Git Bash. To make it work again from Cygwin I had to uninstall git there. Don’t ask me why, but now it works again…
